Greens Endorse Candidates

The Eureka Green Party has endorsed Eureka candidates Mayor Peter
La Vallee and 1st, 3rd and 5th ward council challengers Larry
Glass, Ron Kuhnel and Nan Abrams.
“These candidates are standing up for the people of Eureka,”
Eureka Greens Chairperson Heidi Calton stated in a news release.
“They have a commitment to the environment, social justice,
open government and citizen participation.”
At the Tuesday meeting of the Eureka Greens, participants expressed
frustration with the current City Council, according to the news
release.
Other topics discussed included neighborhood associations, civil
unions for same sex partners, slum landlords, drug use and crime,
instant runoff voting, the Balloon Track, citizen involvement
in the city process and the pulp mill, according to the news release.
The Eureka Green Party meets the third Saturday of each
month at 3:30 p.m. at 2804 Williams St., Eureka.  The
group will consider the Humboldt County 4th District supervisor’s
race at their next meeting.
